What is unique about Greening Media’s approach to media and marketing?

We believe that marketing is about more than selling a product; it’s about creating an emotional appeal and a sense of familiarity with the customer.

By helping clients partner with community organizations and incorporate environmentalism, we ensure that they set themselves apart. We specialize in connecting our clients with the community, and then helping them share the stories of these partnerships in a unique way.

Greening Media works a lot with local and startup businesses here in Hamilton- what are some of the common marketing needs these businesses ask for?

We’ve had a lot of success working with start-ups through our video division, helping small businesses find a way to share their story and attract investors through video.

Traditional video production can cost thousands, or tens of thousands, so we have pioneered a new style of video marketing that is journalistic in nature, reducing costs and increasing the efficiency, turnaround time, and emotional impact of our video stories. Start-ups have loved being able to share their story in an authentic way without breaking the bank.

Greening Media is part of an innovative ecosystem, including being located in McMaster Innovation Park. What innovative initiatives are the team planning in the next year?

We are working with the City of Hamilton to launch a new video storytelling platform that will profile various businesses, events, and organizations that are making a difference here in Hamilton. Can’t share too much yet, but we expect to get started in the fall and really start moving forward in 2018, sharing the story of this community as it happens, working with partners from across the city to paint a picture of the change and innovation here in #HamOnt.

What have been some of your favourite client projects from the past year? Why are they your favourite?

One of the most rewarding projects for us was bringing together 5 different clients through the St. Joseph’s Hospital ‘Going the Distance’ Campaign. We worked with the hospital foundation to promote fundraising through the Paris to Ancaster Bike Race and Around the Bay Road Race, and brought retail/industry clients Leggat Auto Group and Utter Morris Insurance into the mix.

It was amazing to see how the community partnerships we helped set-up can make a difference in the community and inspire real change.

What does it mean to Greening Media to support LiON’S LAIR and the work that Innovation Factory does?

Our company is a start-up too. We’ve been in business for eight years now but we remember what it was like when we were just starting out. We are excited to support this opportunity for young, entrepreneurial people in Hamilton and the area to gain exposure and much-needed investment dollars for their companies. We also love to support Innovation Factory and other companies that are our neighbours and part of the innovation ecosystem here at McMaster Innovation Park!
