HAMILTON – June 11, 2019 – Who dares to enter the Lions Lair?
Fifteen local startups have been narrowed down from a field of over 60 applicants to compete in Innovation Factory’s signature pitch competition, Lions Lair.
This year’s competition has seen big changes, most-notably with the new structure for judging and the live-pitching element at the awards gala, held on September 26, 2019.
The top 15 will participate in a series of training sessions with Innovation Factory advisors and industry experts before tackling a round of pitches and interviews with the three ‘Pillars of Business Lions’: Alex S. Ross, the ‘Legal Lion’ from Gowling WLG, Aaron Gillespie, the ‘Financial Lion’ from KPMG, and Chantel Broten, the ‘Growth Lion’ from Jan Kelley.
The ‘Investor Lions’ will review the pitches and interview scores to determine the top ten finalists who will go on to pitch live at the gala on September 26, 2019 in from of a sold-out crowd. This year’s ‘Investor Lions’ are Karen Grant from Angel One Network, Dominic Talalla from Trellis Capital, and Stuart Wheldon from Redchurch Cafe + Gallery. Winners will be revealed at the end of the gala.
Tickets for the Lions Lair Gala, hosted by Innovation Factory, will go on sale in July.
